Great book for siblings of twins!

As a child psychologist and a parent of 4, I highly recommend the Paris Morris book series. My kids love the bright, charming illustrations and the voice of the child narrator. I am impressed at how complex issues such as sibling rivalry are dealt with in such simple and elegant prose. The travel books are excellent as well. The whole series very effectively presents a "child's-eye"point of view.

Excellent book for big sister/brother of twins!

Being an older sibling of twins can be a challenge (especially when your two siblings are sharing and celebrating a birthday). This series of books is a wonderful resource. We bought this book for a gift for our oldest child to give on the birthday of the twins. It was great!

As far as I know this book is written by the most creative bloggers who write about kids activities. I love that most of the activities don't require expensive craft materials, a lot of them are child led and helping kids to find the best in them. This is a must have resource for parents with kids. Seriously! Money well spent!

This book is full of fun, engaging

This book is full of fun, engaging, and unique activities from a large collaboration of kid bloggers. There are sections for general/anytime activities, holiday activities, early childhood education, life skills, and organization of play and learning areas for kids. I appreciate that each activity is clearly labeled by which ages it is appropriate for, whether baby, toddler, preschool, or kindergarten. This is an excellent book for parents of young kids (what a great gift idea!) or for preschool teachers looking for fresh, new ideas. I can't wait to try out these activities with my own kids!

Great resource to have for anyone with young kids - I am blown away by all of the great ideas for learning, playing, and engaging kids! Love that the pages have easy navigation on the sides to help find age appropriate activities. I am sure this book will grow with our family as it is such a comprehensive resource. This will definitely be my go-to baby shower gift for new moms. I think it offers great play ideas, but also is a wonderful way to inspire parents to engage with their children and have a hand-son part of the learning process.

Based on GaN, switching-mode power converters with efficiency in excess of 99 % have been already demonstrated, thus clearing the way for massive adoption of GaN transistors in the power conversion market. This is expected to have important advantages at both the environmental and economic level, since power conversion losses account for 10 % of global electricity consumption.

The first part of the book describes the properties and advantages of gallium nitride compared to conventional semiconductor materials. The second part of the book describes the techniques used for device fabrication, and the methods for GaN-on-Silicon mass production. Specific attention is paid to the three most advanced device structures: lateral transistors, vertical power devices, and nanowire-based HEMTs. Other�relevant topics covered by the book are the strategies for normally-off operation, and the problems related to device reliability. The last chapter reviews the switching characteristics of GaN HEMTs based on a systems level approach.

About the Author
Matteo Meneghini received the Ph.D. degree in the optimization of GaN-based LED and laser structures from the University of Padova, Italy. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padova. During his career he has extensively worked on the reliability and parasitics of GaN-based semiconductor devices for application in the RF, power electronics and optoelectronics fields: his research is mainly focused towards the understanding of the physical mechanisms that limit the performance and the reliability of GaN-based LEDs, lasers, and HEMTs.

Gaudenzio Meneghesso�received the Ph.D. degree in electrical and telecommunication engineering from the University of Padova, Padova, Italy, in 1997. In 1995, he was with the University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands, with a Human Capital and Mobility fellowship (within the SUSTAIN Network) working on the dynamic behavior of protection structures against electrostatic discharge (ESD). Since 2011, he has been a Full Professor with the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padova.
Enrico Zanoni was born in Verona, Italy, in 1956. He received the Laurea degree in physics (cum laude) from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Modena, Italy, in 1982, after a student internship with the S. Carlo Foundation, Modena.� During 1985–1988, he was an Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Bari, Bari, Italy. From 1988 to 1993, he frequently visited the U.S. and established research collaborations with Bell Laboratories; Hughes Research Laboratories; IBM T. J. Watson Research Center; Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA; TRW (currently, Northrop Grumman); University of California, Santa Barbara, CA, USA; and many other industrial and academic laboratories. During 1996–1997, he was a Full Professor of industrial electronics with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He is currently with the University of Padova, Padua, Italy, where he was an Assistant Professor during 1988–1992, an Associate Professor of electronics during 1992–1993, a Full Professor of microelectronics during 1993–1996, and has been a Full Professor of digital electronics with the Department of Information Engineering since 1997.

A wiry kind of human spirit

A conundrum: Loren Kleinman has been to the depths. There is, in this book,a well of sorrow so fraught with anguish that no human reading it could escape the long physical pull on heart, on stomach, on soul.

Yet. Yet. It escapes despair. Somehow, when the plunge is deep, when the slide is nearly at the bottom, when the moment of no return should be there, when Kleinman should be saying to us, "Okay, here we suck the gas, slit the vein, give in to the endless sucking hole from which there is no return" - there is a veering off. Not cowardice. Not a flitting butterfly of sticky-goo. Not "and then I woke up." Not even the smiley face of the cover art, really.

If I had to venture a guess, Kleinman presents more a wiry kind of human spirit: it takes so little to let go, but only a little more to hold on. Whatever seeks to destroy you, isn't worthy of the victory. The man, the dope, the world that berates, attacks or just ignores you: You're better than that. She's better than that.

Humans are breakable things. And mendable things. Most times.

No Faking It Here

These economical poems have a deep root structure and many leaves and petals, yet they are by no means nature poems in the traditional sense. What Kleinman has written in this book are 'human nature' poems that deal with all the pain and foibles we species of a lesser form possess. This poet knows how to create emotional tension without milking the poem to death. The beauty here is that life is presented without artifice, and with great amounts of honesty in the face of human troubles. No faking it here. Most highly recommended.

Real as it Gets!

Sometimes her words hug you, and slap your face, and kick you in the gut. Maybe a bit lower too. 1/2 beautiful, 1/4 raw, 1/4 ethereal. 4/4 amazing.

Kleinman excels when she drops a real thing down, painfully low, and then elevates it. Shes masterful at her art. Her plays with language is spectacular and at times surprising - in a good way. Loved it! I need more!

The Objects, The Beds I've Slept In, and First-Date Oysters are standouts for me.

very useful

This book is very coherent in its exposition of ideas and reads almost like an "authored" book. There are some redundancy in explanation of ideas by different authors, but proper references are made to other chapters in the book (that were written by other authors) for a complete explanation.

You can find a self contained explanation of Extended Kalman Filter, Unscented Kalman Filter, and Particle Filter as applied to machine learning, where you have some parameter values to be automatically identified such as in weights for neural networks.

My interest was primarily in Unscented Kalman Filter and the book was detailed enough so that I could code my own Unscented Kalman Filter and reproduce some examples in the book. In the process, I had to look up on the internet on Robbins-Monro Algorithm because the book lacked a detailed explanation about it even though it was a suggested method for updating innovation covariance. Overall, the explanations were clear, and it has been a smooth process from reading this book to applying the algorithms to my own problem at hand.

He left the Savoy Alps in 1991 and traveled to Paris, coming under the wing of Christian Chauveau. This famous man trained Emmanuel in the skills of the make-up artist. Emmanuel's first assignments were tough, low-paid jobs, which came his way via various model agencies. Until, that is, he took the plunge and decided to go to America. Prompted by an invitation from renowned Penthouse photographer Hank Londoner, he soon got to know others in his profession. He also acted as an agent for Londoner, for Suze Randall and Vivian Thomas as well. He used the sessions to watch and learn how the artists worked. Thus began a meteoric career, and today his photos grace the covers of Penthouse, Hustler, Private, and other magazines, including many erotic calendars currently circulating in�Europe. Excellent Quality

I had never heard of Emmanuel Fouquet before a few weeks ago, but I'm quickly becoming a fan of his work. This book, Hot 19, and Love Heat all have similar (and very high) quality, and I would highly recommend any and all of them. My personal opinion when it comes to nude photography (and my personal preference is women) the emphasis should be on accentuating the models' beauty and sexuality, and Mr. Fouquet does that very well (not to mention that all of the models are very attractive).

So very fine, the Author Emmanuel Fouquet truly did an exquisite job on this fine book, The models are Truly Stunning Gorgeous. Its totally amazing how one can fined so much Beauty on one page, or in a photo. This is a well nicely done book. Its Hardcover which makes it all the better. Beauty just being so Beautiful

Sin embargo quedaron algunas cosas por topar. No es de extra�arse ya que el conocimiento est� en continuo hacerse y deshacerse. Hecho en falta un �ndice anal�tico para facilitar la consulta.
