So yeah, this series is super sexy, but it is so much more than that. Throughout the course of the series, the heroine, Aby, learns to explore her world and finally discovers the woman she is. The woman she wants to be and the life she wants to have. She is amazing. Alex is a hell of a guy to be there by her side as she does this. So yeah, steamy as hell, but the love story is amazing too. And the love Aby finds for herself is just as compelling, if not more than the love she has for Alex.

"Miles from Nowhere: A Round the World Bicycle Adventure" will change you in a good way.

"Miles from Nowhere" is my favorite of the several bicycle touring books (and most other books) I have read. The fact that it is my only book that my wife has read is evidence of it worth. After I read it, my wife and I read it out loud to each other and we laughed all the way through it -- and cried at the end. Barbara writes like she thinks and talks, which is refreshing and keeps you wondering -- but more than just wondering what they are going to run into around the next corner. They peddle around the world, making it up as they go, and undergo a lifetime of experiences from marriage crisis, life-threatening encounters, human dramas and wonderful people stories; and, they do it all with 10-speeds before the bicycles and gadgetry caught on. I believe you should read it even if you are not interested in bicycling -- it is that good.

What It Was Like to Ride Around the World in the Late 1970s

Though in places, she seems to percieve local people as complete angels or total nincompoops, there's still a lot to like in this narrative. She's candid about her feelings, throughout, and about the conditions she (and her fellow travelers) encountered in so many places around the world. It's no Pollyanna dreamscape, nor is it a cynical diatribe - it's a revealing exploration of what it was really like for her to ride across the U.S. and through so many different countries nearly 50 years ago.

Purchased this book after reading about it in an Adventure Cycling magazine. Sensational book. The author's description of their bicycle trip around the world was wonderful - never boring! Worth every penny of the purchase price.

High Intoxicating. A must read for all Fantasy Fans. The classic struggle of good vs. evil in a well written world of interesting characters and intrigue. Definitely a great sequel to the first two "Magician" books.

We've been enjoying reading one page a day as a way to brighten our day. Although the book isn't as humorous as we were hoping for, compared to Liz Curtis Higgs or Patsy Claremont, we have enjoyed reading and learning!

I had high hopes of this collection, but sadly, the humour is tepid, and the wisdom of the quotes is less than insightful. The chinese food quotes, for example, reflect a sort of "insight" that seems wildly outdated these days and rather xenophobic. Other topics covered are often as inane. I relish well turned phrases, and I like to think others do as well. There are few here. There are better resources, which are every bit as suitable for sermons. Only an average average book, more's the pity.
